An Ohio man who summoned help with a 911 call greeted police with a “barrage” of bullets, killing one officer and wounding another, during a 12-hour standoff at his Cincinnati apartment that he broadcast in part live on Instagram, authorities say.
As the user turns the camera on himself to reveal his face, the deputy’s voice continues from outside. “Wade Winn, this is the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office. You can put your weapons down,” the deputy says.
At another point the user says, “They already kicked in the door. I shot two of them. They did not fire back,” reports theCincinnati Enquirer.

A second officer, Lt. Nick DeRose, a 22-year veteran of the sheriff’s office, was injured but treated and released.
The two were shot about 10:30 p.m. Saturday “while responding to a barricaded suicidal subject,” said the sheriff’s office. Deputies were responding to a 911 call “from a male caller who advised that he believed someone was inside his residence, explained that he was armed and eventually stated to the 911 dispatcher that he was suicidal.”
