We ’ve all say things we do n’t really intend in text subject matter . But when a retired Thai truck number one wood sent an Master of Science that insulted his king , he get more than he bargained for . Twenty years more , in fact .
Because , according to the New York Times , a jury found Ampon Tangnoppakul ’s text messages loathsome enough to the Thai royal family that they sentenced him to 20 years in prison . Tangnoppakul , 61 , was sentenced to five years in prison for each sickening content he send out .
To make this well-defined : he did n’t send off a text subject matter to the king . Or any extremity of the royal phratry . But under Thai law , that does n’t matter . Harsh penalties exist for making insults or threat mastermind at King Bhumibol Adulyadej and his kin , even in individual communications .

The guy ’s lawyer , Poonsuk Poonsukcharoen , told the New York Times :
“ He insists that he does not know how to send text message . He insists that he loves His Majesty the King . ”
The text edition messages in question were receive by a senior government official , and it ’s claimed that they denigrate , insulted and menace the Riley B King and his married woman . The judge apparently rejected Ampon ’s claim that his earphone was being repaired at the time the messages were sent last May .

deplorably for us , the content of the messages was n’t revealed in court . It ’s a disgrace for Ampon that this did n’t happen in Pakistan , though , because if the textual matter messages included the occasional rude word , they mightnever have even made it to the recipient .
