It ’s not just superhero movies that have been affected by the success of The Dark Knight ; NBC ’s Heroes has also take cue from Chris Nolan ’s smash … but not in the path you might wait .
Over at his blog , show manufacturer Greg Beeman blab about the Nolan influence that you might have missed in this workweek ’s episode :
The guy rope at Optic Nerve create a really cool contraption for Zach Quinto for the moment when Jack Coleman slits his pharynx . We shot celluloid of Jack really cut this appliance which rave stemma . It was freaky . But in post - production we found it more powerful to have Jack do the piece off - level in a close up and then edit widely for the backwash as Zach started to bleed out . I had of late see THE DARK KNIGHT just before we start post - producing this instalment and I was struck by how they never designate any violence as an on - camera event – everything was involve , and yet actually felt more violent . That might have influenced the decision to edit this shot this way .
Me , I was hop-skip for some kind of realisation that equivocalness and relatively understated character reference developing are not the foe , but I ’ll take what I can get . Although , give torpedo ’ track book , I would n’t be too surprised if we see a character called “ The Scary Nihilistic Clown ” show up before too long , just to hammer rest home that they ’ve discover the picture show .
