Elle Fanningis now on Broadway — with sisterDakota Fanningthere to applaud her.
Elle, 25, and Dakota, 29, smiled together at the opening night party for Elle’s new playAppropriateat the The Yard House Times Square on Monday in New York City.
In an interview withW Magazine, Elle said she was sold on the story ofAppropriateas soon as the script came across her desk, calling it “so undeniably good” and “one of the best things I’d ever read.”
“It just slid in [my schedule] perfectly,” Elle told the outlet of the show’s run. “I was like, ‘This is my time. Bring me to Broadway.’ ”

The show follows three siblings who return to their Arkansas home after the death of their father and make several discoveries about him.The Greatstar plays River, a spiritual woman engaged to the youngest Lafayette sibling. In the play she encourages him to return to the home and make amends to his siblings, according toW Magazine.
Elle recalls of acting onstage: “I was like, ‘Oh my God, there are people out there,’ “ she said, recalling the show’s first preview on Nov. 29. “I just reminded myself, ‘You know this. You can do this. Have fun.’ ”
“If something does go wrong, you get to do it again the next day,” she said. “After you film a scene for a movie, you go to bed and think, ‘Oh no, I should have done that differently,’ but it’s over, there’s no turning back.”
