Toshiba and MemoryTech announce a threefold - format disc yesterday with both videodisc and HD videodisk layers . This is n’t something you should twitch out over , but it ’s a plumage in the cap of HD DVD . We reported on a standardised development from the Blu - Ray crowd a couple months back , but that was just a CD / Blu - Ray hybrid . There ’s no DVD / Blu - Ray crossbreed yet .
So with all these newfangled intercrossed discs flying around , the question becomes , would it be potential to create a Blu - Ray / HD DVD loan-blend ? Man , that certain would make water a tidy sum of hoi polloi off . Either way , there have n’t been too many announcement about a sort of bridge between DVD and whatever , so Toshiba and MemoryTech have take a step in the correct direction .
