NASA did n’t plan any traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner party for the astronauts at the International Space Station , but they had it anyway : Someone sneaked the real thing into the space shuttle Atlantis without anyone from solid ground control noticing it .
A reporter asked about the lack of turkey dinner in the official NASA bill of fare , but mission commander Charles Hobaugh respond “ shockingly , yes , I think it will be ” as they flashed some travelling bag with the goodies inside . Hobaugh did n’t care a pot :
blessing to me has not always been about the food you eat , but the company you keep , and I ’m hold back some outstanding company here . I ca n’t await to get home and partake in a late Thanksgiving meal with my family but , in the meantime , I ’ve got a great group of Quaker and I ’m really grateful for that .

A NASA spokesman was surprised and did n’t have any explanation except that some of the ISS gang may have sneaked turkey — smoked and irradiated — glaze yam plant , freeze - dry cornbread dressing , and green beans computer software into the place .
Meanwhile , this Gizmodo editor is surprised that he did n’t vomit while writing this article , after exhaust between five and three hundred pounds of Republic of Turkey today . [ AP ]
