We heard noise about this earlier this morning and could n’t confirm anything , but rumors abound that Apple has inked a plenty with chipset vendor SigmaTel to provide a photoflash - establish music player to launch this Christmas . I have serious doubts about this one for two reasons : Apple already has a low - capacity histrion in the mini and it would go against most of their previous statement about their philosophy in portable players ; Apple also has antecedently done all their chipset employment with PortalPlayer — it would be strange of them to work with anyone else at this full stop .
But whatevs — nothing but waiting and seeing for now .
