“ The Geography of Small Talk ” was put together by The Atlantic based on enquiry from their correspondent Deborah Fallows to bet at the questions people use to set about a conversation with stranger .

We ’ve looked before at the some of the way that Americandialects switch around the country , but this video is an interesting example of the ways that not just the news , but the meanings of regionalism can translate from absolutely bland to sometimes rather encroaching when take aim out of their geographical context .
