Pacific Rim 2 is still a retentive mode off , but if you ’re yearn for some more red-hot Jaeger / Kaiju conflict , you wo n’t have to wait much longer : a new comic miniseries from Legendary will fulfill in the gap between the first movie and theprevious graphic novel prequel . Update : Now with glorious High - Res art !
The new four - part miniseries , Pacific Rim : Tales from the Drift , will be “ presented ” by Guillermo del Toro ( I ’m not entirely sure what that means , unless del Toro will drive to my house with a copy of the comic every calendar month to in person hand it over ) and is based on a story by Pacific Rim scribe Travis Beacham , but drop a line by Joshua Fialkov . Marcos Marz will supply the art for all four issuance .
Set in between Tales from Year Zero and the movie , tale from the Drift will cover the full brunt of humanity ’s warfare against the Kaiju threat , after their excellent design to build giant robots to punch the Kaiju to death is put into movement . Judging by the promo art released , it calculate like the series will spend some more sentence with Japanese JaegerTacit Ronin , who made a brief appearance during the film ’s curtain raising collage chronological sequence .
Also a good clock time to cue ourselves that Tacit Ronin is an unbelievable giant robot name .
Pacific Rim : Tales from the Drift will begin in November .
