In time for his 40th birthday , Leyland Kirby upload a 40 - track stage set — one composition for each yr — of short works under the umbrella title of respect We Drink to leave the Coming Storm . It ’s an elegiac collection of nameless songs , each comprised of , as he describes it , “ the same elements pianoforte , digital bowed stringed instrument and synthesized choir . ” The upshot is a darkly beatific background euphony , sombre tones for somber room :
